Many customers believe that the forwarding agent has the liability of their cargo in transit. Hecksher want to dispel the myth.
The liability for loss or damage of goods is limited to SDR 8,33 which is approximately Dkk 70,00 per kilo, lost or damaged. (via airfreight this will be SDR 19,00 per kilo, lost or damaged)
In case a damage or loss occurs, this amount may not be sufficient to cover the clients losses. To support our customers, Hecksher therefore offers a cargo insurance signed via our partner.
Hecksher offers competitive insurance rates. The cargo insurance covers the totality of the insured value and can be signed without excess.
After notification of damage (according to international rules), the insurance company takes over the administrative work. Damage sum is paid prior to the accountability, hence the relationship between customer and transporter is not influenced by legal disputes. The injury treatment is effective and the waiting time for repairing of damages/replacement of goods is minimal.
